EXAMINATION SYSTEM

Army Goodwill Public School, Rajouri follows a structured, transparent and student-friendly examination system designed to assess academic progress, conceptual understanding, writing skills, practical knowledge and overall learning outcomes.

The examination system of the school is planned in accordance with academic requirements and CBSE guidelines. Regular assessments are conducted throughout the academic session to monitor student performance, identify learning gaps, provide timely feedback and support continuous academic improvement. Equal importance is given to written examinations, internal assessments, practical work, projects, class participation and overall academic discipline.

EXAMINATION & ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK

Periodic Assessments
Periodic Assessments are conducted for Classes VI to IX to evaluate regular academic progress, learning outcomes and conceptual understanding.

Regular Class Tests
Regular class tests are conducted, especially for Classes X and XII, to ensure consistent preparation, revision and examination readiness.

Unit Tests
Unit tests are conducted for Classes XI and XII to assess chapter-wise and unit-wise understanding of the syllabus.

Half-Yearly Examination
Half-yearly examinations are conducted to assess the academic progress of students during the first part of the session.

Annual Examination
Annual examinations evaluate cumulative learning, syllabus coverage and overall academic performance of students.

Internal Assessment
Internal assessment includes notebook work, subject enrichment activities, project work, attendance and classroom participation.

Practical Examination
Practical examinations are conducted for applicable subjects to assess hands-on learning, skill development and application-based understanding.

Pre-Board Examination
Pre-board examinations are conducted for Classes X and XII to prepare students effectively for the CBSE Board Examinations.

Result Analysis

Remedial Support
Students requiring additional support are guided through remedial classes, doubt-clearing sessions and subject-wise improvement plans.

ASSESSMENT PATTERN

Classes	Assessment Details
Classes VI to IX	Periodic Assessments, internal assessment, subject enrichment activities, notebook evaluation, half-yearly examination and annual examination are conducted as per the school academic plan.
Class X	Regular class tests, internal assessment, subject enrichment activities and pre-board examinations are conducted for systematic preparation of the CBSE Board Examination.
Class XI	Unit tests, half-yearly examination, annual examination, internal assessments and practical examinations are conducted as per the school academic plan.
Class XII	Regular class tests, unit tests, internal assessment, practical/project work and pre-board examinations are conducted for focused preparation of the CBSE Board Examination.

EXAMINATION RULES & GUIDELINES

1	Students must appear in all tests and examinations as per the schedule issued by the school.
2	Students must reach the examination room well before the scheduled time.
3	Students must bring required stationery and should not borrow items during the examination.
4	Use of unfair means, copying, talking or disturbing others during examination is strictly prohibited.
5	Students must follow the instructions of the invigilator and maintain discipline inside the examination hall.
6	Answer sheets must be submitted within the allotted time. Late submission may not be accepted.
7	Absence from any examination should be supported by a valid reason and prior information to the school wherever possible.
8	Students must maintain honesty, discipline and seriousness during all examinations and assessments.
9	Mobile phones, smart watches, electronic gadgets, written slips or any unauthorized material are strictly prohibited in the examination room.
10	Students must carefully read the question paper and follow all instructions printed on it before attempting answers.
11	Students must write neatly, mention required details correctly and avoid unnecessary markings on answer sheets.
12	Any case of unfair means or misconduct during examination will be dealt with strictly as per school rules.
13	Result declaration, answer sheet discussion and parent communication are carried out as per school procedure.
14	Parents are requested to monitor the academic progress of their wards and attend PTMs/result discussions whenever scheduled.

Academic Support: After examinations, teachers analyse the performance of students and provide necessary guidance, remedial support, doubt-clearing sessions and subject-wise improvement strategies.
